Boa constrictor longicauda

Description :
The long tail boa (Boa constrictor longicauda), is a snake only found in Tumbes region, in the north of the Peru. When adult, this boa maxes out from 1,70 to 2m.

They have a characteristic spear-shaped draw on the top of their head, a silver grey colour with a very contrasted black pattern and a long rather black tail. Certain specimen, like our female, can be less marked than typical specimens of the phenotype.

This boa is still not frequently kept in captivity. Wild caught animals imported couple of years ago and reproductions that followed contributed to democratize their presences among the private breedings.
